Feature Integration and Packaging
The amount of software code available for use in a software or hardware product today is simply enormous. There are literally billions of lines of code in a world in millions of products and projects, all of them providing more and more features and applications. To roll them into a functioning product is hard work that requires great care, planning and expertise.
Whether it’s an open source project, an in-house developed application or technology licensed from a third party, the software needs to be configured, compiled and integrated into the operating system and other software components around it. Proper testing, quality assurance, deployment and documentation must take place. At Job and Esther Technologies, we do this routinely for all the software components we encounter and work with.
Some practical applications of feature integration would include:
• A custom operating system with specific features/additions required by the customer
• Operating system that provides specific features required by the use case and/or target hardware
